Overview

A cedar plunge with room to stretch out

Oval Pacific cedar cold plunge

More legroom

The oval shape gives you almost 47 in of length inside, about 8 in more than our round cedar barrels, so you can settle in with your legs out in front of you.

Oval cedar cold plunge with cedar step

Easy in, easy out

At under 35 in tall, it sits lower than our round barrels. A matching Pacific cedar step makes getting in and out steady and simple, in a home gym, spa room or covered patio.

Oval cedar cold plunge with locking cover

Locked and covered

A custom cover with child-safety latches keeps the water clean and helps hold its temperature between sessions.

Options

Choose how you chill

Choose a version in the buy box above. Both chillers come from Dynamic Cold Therapy, are made for its tubs, cool and heat, and plug into a standard 120 V outlet.

Oval cedar cold plunge, tub only

Tub only, $2,499

The oval tub, cedar step and locking cover, with no chiller. You fill it with cold water and ice, and change the water every 3 to 5 days. A chiller is the way to hold a steady temperature.

Dynamic Cold Therapy cold and heat chiller

With the 0.8 HP chiller, $6,399

Holds your water anywhere from 37°F to 85°F, with Wi-Fi app control, scheduling, built-in ozone and two-stage filtration. A good fit for everyday home use.

Oval cedar cold plunge connected to its chiller

With the 1.0 HP chiller, $6,899

The same features with more cooling power. Choose it for frequent plunging, faster cooldowns, or a warm room or climate.

Optional accessories, chosen in the buy box: a 4-pack of replacement 20-micron filters for the chiller, and a pair of 9 ft neoprene hose covers that insulate the water lines and help manage condensation.

Dimensions & space

Plan your space

Plan for the tub and its step, room for the chiller within reach of its 8 ft hoses, and a floor that can carry the filled weight.

  • Set it on a flat, stable, waterproof floor, ideally near a floor drain
  • On a deck or upper floor, have a builder or engineer confirm the load
  • Keep it near a water source and somewhere to drain
  • Leave room for the chiller beside the tub, near a 120 V outlet

Installation

Place it, connect it, fill it

The tub is freestanding. There's no permanent plumbing, and the chiller plugs into a standard outlet.

Place

  • Choose a smooth, level spot with no sharp objects underneath
  • Indoors, avoid carpet and keep moisture-sensitive items away. Make sure the room is well ventilated.
  • Outdoors, choose shade or cover. Long sun exposure shortens the life of the tub.

Connect

  • Connect the chiller's quick-connect hoses to the tub's 3/4 in inlet and outlet
  • Check that every hose gasket is seated before you fill
  • Plug the chiller into a standard 120 V outlet. Keep other electrical items at least 5 ft from the tub.

Fill & start

  • Inspect the tub for damage before filling
  • Fill with a hose to about 70%, enough to cover your upper body with your head above water
  • Set your temperature on the chiller or in the app

Using & care

Simple to run, easy to maintain

Every session

  • Enter feet first, using the cedar step
  • Breathe slowly and steadily. Don't hyperventilate or hold your breath.
  • Start at milder temperatures and build up gradually

Water care

  • Keep the pH between 7.2 and 7.8, and test it regularly
  • With a chiller, the filter and ozone help keep water clear. Without one, change the water every 3 to 5 days.
  • Keep the cover locked when the tub isn't in use

Tub care

  • Wipe the interior with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid hard bristle brushes.
  • Before storing, drain fully, dry and cover the tub
  • Don't store or use the tub below freezing

Cold water is a strong stressor for the heart and lungs. If you have heart disease, an arrhythmia, high or low blood pressure, circulation problems, diabetes or another medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant, check with your clinician first. Never plunge alone or after alcohol, and get out right away if you feel weak, dizzy or unable to control your hands and limbs. Your core temperature can keep dropping after you get out, so warm up gradually. Children should only use it with close adult supervision.

Research

What the research explores

Stress, sleep and wellbeing

A 2025 review of 11 studies with more than 3,000 participants found cold-water immersion may lower stress, improve sleep quality and support quality of life, with some effects changing over time. Read the review

A natural alertness response

Immersion in cold water triggers a measurable rise in noradrenaline, a hormone involved in alertness and focus. Read the study

Recovery and soreness

Reviews of cold-water immersion after hard exercise report lower perceived muscle soreness and better perceived recovery. Read the review

Recovery isn't the same as adaptation. Cold exposure right after strength training may blunt some of the muscle-building response, so if muscle growth is your goal, schedule cold sessions apart from lifting. Read the study

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do I need a chiller?

Not to start. Without one, you fill the tub with cold water and ice and change the water every 3 to 5 days. A chiller holds your chosen temperature, from 37°F to 85°F, and filters and sanitizes the water as it runs.

Which chiller should I choose?

Either works with this tub. The 0.8 HP suits everyday home use. Choose the 1.0 HP for frequent plunging, faster cooldowns, or a warm room or climate. Both cool and heat, and both run on a standard 120 V outlet.

How cold does the water get?

With either chiller, as low as 37°F (3°C). How quickly it gets there depends on the room temperature and how much water is in the tub.

Oval or round barrel?

The oval is lower, at under 35 in tall, and longer inside, at almost 47 in, so you can sit with your legs out in front of you. Our round cedar barrels are taller and deeper, with a built-in bench for sitting upright. Chat with us now and we'll help you choose.

Do I need an electrician or a plumber?

Usually not. The tub needs no power, and the chiller plugs into a standard 120 V outlet with GFCI built in. You fill it with a hose and drain it through the 1 in drain, so plan where the water will go.

Can it go outdoors?

Yes, on a level surface. Choose shade or cover, since long sun exposure shortens the life of the tub. The chiller is rated for indoor or covered outdoor use, and the tub shouldn't be stored or used below freezing.

How much does it weigh?

The tub weighs 180.5 lb empty. Filled, it weighs far more, so on a deck or upper floor, have a builder or engineer confirm the load. The manual suggests filling to about 70%, enough to cover your upper body with your head above water.

What if something arrives damaged?

Photograph the packaging and the tub, then contact us within 48 hours of delivery. Chat with us now or email info@heavenlifewellness.com.
