Inside, the Monaco is 68 in wide and 72 in tall, with tiered benches for up to six adults. It's large enough for family sessions or to stretch out on your own.
Lighting and sound built in
A touchscreen sets heat, time and lights. The cabin adds color lighting with a red light setting, exterior accent lights, built-in speakers with Bluetooth, FM radio and a DVD player.

- Choose a dry, level indoor spot, away from any source of water
- Keep both outlets easy to reach from the back of the sauna. Don't use extension cords.
- Basements, home gyms and spare rooms work well. Indoor use only: outdoor placement voids the warranty.
- Infrared sessions work best in rooms above 68°F. Golden Designs doesn't recommend use below 60°F.
Installation
How assembly works
The panels clasp together, and the only tools needed are a Phillips screwdriver and a ladder. Golden Designs recommends two adults, and three is ideal. The owner's manual walks through every step with diagrams.
Before delivery
- Have a licensed electrician install the two dedicated 120 V, 20 A circuits
- Clear a path from the door to the room. The sauna arrives in 4 boxes, 840 lb in total.
- Inspect the heaters for shipping damage before you start
Build the cabin
- Floor panel first, with the heater cord at the rear
- Then the rear, left and right walls, which clasp together
- Fit the bench heater panels, braces, bench guides and benches
Finish & power on
- Add the front wall and glass door
- Set the roof and roof covers, then connect each heater, light and sensor cord
- Plug into both outlets, then run a first heat cycle

Using & care
Simple to use, easy to keep
Your session
- Preheat for about 25–30 minutes to reach 115–120°F, or step in and warm up with the cabin
- Most people use 118–122°F, for about 20–30 minutes
- Sit on one folded towel and use a second to wipe away sweat
Stay comfortable
- Drink water before, during and after
- Start with shorter sessions and build up
- After 3 hours of continuous use, give the sauna a 1-hour rest
Care
- Wipe benches and walls with plain water and a soft, damp cloth
- Never use chemical cleaners on the wood
- Unplug before cleaning, and keep the outlets in good repair
Leave the sauna right away if you feel dizzy, sleepy or uncomfortable. If you're pregnant, have a heart or blood pressure condition, take medication or have any medical condition, check with your clinician before use. Avoid alcohol before or during sessions, and supervise children closely.

Do I need an electrician?
Yes. The Monaco needs two separate dedicated 120 V, 20 A outlets on two separate 20 A breakers, non-GFCI. A licensed electrician should install them. It does not need a 240 V line.
How hot does it get, and how long does it take?
Most people enjoy it at 118–122°F. It reaches 115–120°F in about 25–30 minutes from a room above 70°F, and can heat up to 140°F. Infrared warms you directly, so it feels comfortable at a lower air temperature than a traditional sauna.
