Overview

A clean, modern plunge with an easy-care interior

Cuboid Plastic cold plunge with cedar step

Lie back, like a bath

There's no bench inside. You sit on the floor of the tub and lean back, as in a traditional bathtub, so you can immerse fully to the shoulders. Dynamic Cold Therapy notes the Cuboid may suit taller bathers.

Cuboid Plastic cabinet with cedar trim and chiller connections

Easy-care PVC interior

A smooth PVC interior that's simple to wipe down, set inside a nano-coated stainless steel cabinet with Pacific cedar trim.

Cuboid Plastic cold plunge connected to a chiller

Locked and covered

A custom cover with child-safety locking latches keeps the water clean and helps hold its temperature between sessions. A cedar step makes getting in and out easy.

Options

Choose how you chill

Choose a version in the buy box above. Both chillers come from Dynamic Cold Therapy, are made for its tubs, cool and heat, and plug into a standard 120 V outlet.

Cuboid Plastic cold plunge, tub only

Tub only, $5,999

The tub, cedar step and locking cover, with no chiller. You fill it with cold water and ice, and change the water every 3 to 5 days. A chiller is the way to hold a steady temperature.

Dynamic Cold Therapy cold and heat chiller

With the 0.8 HP chiller, $9,899

Holds your water anywhere from 37°F, with heat, Wi-Fi app control and scheduling, plus built-in filtration and ozone. Dynamic Cold Therapy recommends at least 0.8 HP for the Cuboid.

Cuboid Plastic cold plunge connected to its chiller

With the 1.0 HP chiller, $10,399

The same features with more cooling power. Choose it for frequent plunging, faster cooldowns, or a warm room or climate.

Optional accessories, chosen in the buy box: a 4-pack of replacement 20-micron filters for the chiller, and a pair of 9 ft neoprene hose covers that insulate the water lines and help manage condensation.

Dimensions & space

Plan your space

Plan for the tub and its step, room for the chiller within reach of its 8 ft hoses, and a floor that can carry the filled weight.

  • Set it on a flat, stable, waterproof floor, ideally near a floor drain

  • Leave room for the chiller beside the tub, near a 120 V outlet

Installation

Place it, connect it, fill it

The Cuboid is freestanding. There's no permanent plumbing, and the chiller plugs into a standard outlet.

Place

  • Choose a smooth, level spot with no sharp objects underneath
  • Indoors, avoid carpet and keep moisture-sensitive items away. Make sure the room is well ventilated.
  • Outdoors, choose shade or cover. Long sun exposure shortens the life of the tub.

Connect

  • Connect the chiller's quick-connect hoses to the tub's inlet and outlet
  • Check that every hose gasket is seated before you fill
  • Plug the chiller into a standard 120 V outlet. Keep other electrical items at least 5 ft from the tub.

Fill & start

  • Inspect the tub for damage before filling
  • Fill with a hose to about 70%, enough to cover your upper body with your head above water
  • Set your temperature on the chiller or in the app
Cuboid chiller inlet, outlet and drain connections
The chiller inlet, outlet and drain sit together on the side of the cabinet.

Using & care

Simple to run, easy to maintain

Every session

  • Enter feet first, using the cedar step
  • Breathe slowly and steadily. Don't hyperventilate or hold your breath.
  • Start at milder temperatures and build up gradually

Water care

  • Keep the pH between 7.2 and 7.8, and test it regularly
  • With a chiller, the filter and ozone help keep water clear. Without one, change the water every 3 to 5 days.
  • Keep the cover locked when the tub isn't in use

Tub care

  • Wipe the interior with a soft cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid hard bristle brushes.
  • Before storing, drain fully, dry and cover the tub
  • Don't store or use the tub below freezing

Cold water is a strong stressor for the heart and lungs. If you have heart disease, an arrhythmia, high or low blood pressure, circulation problems, diabetes or another medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant, check with your clinician first. Never plunge alone or after alcohol, and get out right away if you feel weak, dizzy or unable to control your hands and limbs. Your core temperature can keep dropping after you get out, so warm up gradually. Children should only use it with close adult supervision.

Research

What the research explores

Stress, sleep and wellbeing

A 2025 review of 11 studies with more than 3,000 participants found cold-water immersion may lower stress, improve sleep quality and support quality of life, with some effects changing over time. Read the review

A natural alertness response

Immersion in cold water triggers a measurable rise in noradrenaline, a hormone involved in alertness and focus. Read the study

Recovery and soreness

Reviews of cold-water immersion after hard exercise report lower perceived muscle soreness and better perceived recovery. Read the review

Recovery isn't the same as adaptation. Cold exposure right after strength training may blunt some of the muscle-building response, so if muscle growth is your goal, schedule cold sessions apart from lifting. Read the study

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do I need a chiller?

Not to start. Without one, you fill the tub with cold water and ice and change the water every 3 to 5 days. A chiller holds your chosen temperature, down to 37°F, and filters and sanitizes the water as it runs.

Which chiller should I choose?

Dynamic Cold Therapy recommends at least 0.8 HP for the Cuboid. Choose the 1.0 HP for frequent plunging, faster cooldowns, a warm room or climate. Both cool and heat, and both run on a standard 120 V outlet.

Is there a seat inside?

No. The Cuboid has no bench. You sit on the tub floor and lean back, as in a bathtub. If you'd rather sit upright, our barrel cold plunges have a built-in bench.

Do I need an electrician or a plumber?

Usually not. The tub needs no power, and the chiller plugs into a standard 120 V outlet with GFCI built in. You fill it with a hose and drain it through the drain port, so plan where the water will go.

Can it go outdoors?

Yes, on a level surface. Choose shade or cover, since long sun exposure shortens the life of the tub. The chiller is rated for indoor or covered outdoor use, and the tub shouldn't be stored or used below freezing.

How heavy is it when filled?

The Cuboid Plastic weighs 178 lb empty. Dynamic Cold Therapy lists 120 to 150 gallons across the Cuboid range, and water alone weighs about 8.3 lb per gallon, so plan for well over 1,200 lb filled, before anyone gets in. The manual suggests filling to about 70%. On a deck or upper floor, have a builder or engineer confirm the load.

Great Value Cold Plunge

Solid construction and does exactly what it promises. Setup took about an hour. The size is perfect for my needs and the plastic material seems durable. Would have liked slightly thicker walls but overall very satisfied with the purchase.

Perfect Size and Build Quality

The CUBOID design is brilliant - fits perfectly in my garage corner and the plastic construction feels incredibly sturdy. Assembly was straightforward with clear instructions. The cubic shape maximizes water volume while keeping the footprint compact. Temperature holds steady and the drain system works flawlessly. This has become my daily routine and I couldn't be happier with the investment.
