- Choose a dry, level indoor spot, away from any source of water
- Keep the outlet easy to reach. Don't use adapters, surge protectors or extension cords.
- Bedrooms, home gyms and primary suites work well. Indoor use only: outdoor placement voids the warranty.
- The sauna heats more slowly in rooms below 70°F. Golden Designs doesn't recommend use below 60°F.
Installation
How assembly works
The panels clasp together, and the only tools needed are a Phillips screwdriver and a ladder. Golden Designs calls for two adults. The owner's manual walks through every step with diagrams.
Before delivery
- Confirm a 120 V, 15 A outlet on a dedicated circuit, and have an electrician add one if needed
- Clear a path to the room. The sauna arrives in 2 boxes, 365 lb in total.
- Inspect the heaters for shipping damage before you start
Build the cabin
- Floor panel first, with the floor heater in place
- Then the rear and side panels, which clasp together
- Fit the bench heater panel and bench, then the front panel with the glass door
Finish & power on
- Set the roof panel and roof cover
- Connect each heater, light and sensor cord at the roof
- Plug in, then run a first heat cycle

Using & care
Simple to use, easy to keep
Your session
- Preheat for about 25–30 minutes to reach 115–120°F, or sit inside as it warms
- Most people use 118–122°F, for about 20–30 minutes
- Sit on one folded towel and use a second to wipe away sweat
Stay comfortable
- Drink water before, during and after
- Start with shorter sessions and build up
- After 3 hours of continuous use, give the sauna a 1-hour rest
Care
- Wipe benches and walls with plain water and a soft, damp cloth
- Never use chemical cleaners on the wood
- Unplug before cleaning
Leave the sauna right away if you feel dizzy, sleepy or uncomfortable. If you're pregnant, have a heart or blood pressure condition, take medication or have any medical condition, check with your clinician before use. Avoid alcohol before or during sessions, and supervise children closely.

Do I need an electrician?
It runs on a 120 V, 15 A, non-GFCI outlet, and the owner's manual calls for a dedicated circuit. If you don't have one near your spot, an electrician can add it. No 240 V line is needed.
How hot does it get, and how long does it take?
Most people enjoy it at 118–122°F. It reaches 115–120°F in about 25–30 minutes from a room above 70°F, and can heat up to 140°F. The control panel goes up to 150°F, but Golden Designs explains that setting simply keeps the heaters running, since the room won't reach it.
