- Golden Designs recommends a concrete slab or pad, concrete pavers, gravel, cinder blocks or a solid wood deck, so the sauna can't settle into the ground
- The base must be level, dry and able to carry the sauna plus its bathers, which can exceed 1,000 lb
- Keep it away from standing water, and don't use it during rainstorms
- The wood weathers and changes color over time, and a little water seepage between boards in the rain is normal. A waterproof cover is recommended when it's not in use.
Installation
How assembly works
The cabin goes together with screws. Golden Designs lists a battery-operated or Phillips screwdriver, a rubber mallet, a claw hammer, a level and two ladders, and calls for four adults. A certified electrician must make the electrical connection. The owner's manual walks through every step with diagrams.
Before delivery
- Prepare a level, solid base: a slab, pavers, gravel, cinder blocks or a deck
- Book a certified electrician for the 240 V, 40 A circuit
- Clear a path from the delivery point to the base

Using & care
Simple to use, easy to keep
Two kinds of session
- Infrared: most people enjoy 118–132°F, a gentler warmth that suits longer sessions
- Traditional: 170–185°F, with a ladle of water on the stones for a burst of steam
- Switch modes with the main power knob; only one heat source runs at a time
Stay comfortable
- Drink water before, during and after
- Sit on a folded towel, with another on the floor
- Wait 30 minutes after hard exercise, and cool down slowly before you shower
Care
- Wipe the wood with plain water and a soft cloth
- Never use chemical cleaners, alcohol or aerosols inside
- Let the stove cool for at least 20 minutes before touching it
Leave the sauna right away if you feel dizzy, sleepy or uncomfortable. If you're pregnant, have a heart or blood pressure condition, take medication or have any medical condition, check with your clinician before use. Avoid alcohol before or during sessions, and supervise children closely. Cedar can cause eye, skin or breathing irritation in some people. Stop using the sauna if you notice symptoms.

Request a return within 30 days of delivery for unused, uninstalled items in their original packaging. Please report damage within 48 hours of delivery. Approved non-defective returns have a 25% restocking fee, and return freight is the customer's responsibility. Full return policy

Do I need an electrician?
Yes. The stove and infrared heaters share one dedicated 240 V, 40 A circuit, which a certified electrician must install to your local code.
Can I run the stove and infrared together?
You run either the stove or the infrared heaters, not both at once. One knob on the control panel selects which. Infrared suits a gentler, longer session; the stove gives the classic high heat and steam.
How hot does it get?
In infrared mode, Golden Designs lists 118–132°F as ideal, heating up to 140°F. With the stove, Golden Designs lists 170–185°F as the ideal range, and it heats up to 190°F.
What base does it need?
